On the weekend of May 3-5, 2024, St. Patrick-St. Vincent Catholic High School will stage performances of Camelot. This event is the school’s major visual and performing arts (VAPA) production for the academic year and will involve students from our Drama Club, our theatre classes, our art classes, and our choir classes. It is a community event that will entertain and showcase many of our students’ skills and talents!
The COVID-19 pandemic had a profound impact on visual and performing arts programs across the country. At St. Patrick-St. Vincent, it brought the VAPA program to a grinding halt for over a year. But since August 2022, our students have produced two evenings of original plays – all written by, directed by, and starring our students. They updated, adapted, and produced stagings of Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors and Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. This December, our students will stage their second annual variety show, which will include both original sketch comedy and musical acts. In short, our students are inventive, creative, prolific VAPA rock stars!
Camelot will be the most ambitious piece of theatre our school has presented in years. Our students are resourceful and flexible, but they need help to make this show as big a success as possible. This will require many in our current school community, and it requires many in our broader community, as well! Sets, costumes, and other needs are expensive, and I humbly ask for your and/or your business’s support for our production. We have designed sponsorship and advertising packages that we hope are affordable and will give your business visibility during Camelot’s production run!
