Dear Interested Families,
SPSV is a college preparatory high school where academics are challenging. SPSV is an ethnically diverse and active community of learners who follow a curriculum infused with the Catholic Church’s moral foundation. The high school you choose to attend can determine your college options, the career path you discover, and the friends you will enjoy for a lifetime.
SPSV teachers are knowledgeable, inventive, and challenge their students every day. Our one to one iPad program has created a fresh dynamic in the classroom, whether on campus or in distance learning. Today’s students are part of a tech-savvy generation, and we are excited to incorporate this relevant technology into their education. Engineering and Technology courses such as Honors Technology Innovation and Design II and Studio Production are exciting new opportunities for our students. St. Patrick - St. Vincent Catholic High School earth science classes partner with UC Davis Botany department, and our AP Robotics class follows the UC Davis curriculum.
Our AP results consistently surpass the national averages. One hundred percent of the SPSV students that enrolled in AP classes in the Spring of 2020 took the exams, and over 80.5% passed with grades of 3 or higher. SPSV students took a total of 215 AP exams in May 2020.
We provide communities and activities outside of academics to satisfy our students’ wide variety of interests. Every Bruin can find somewhere they belong. That may be on a retreat team, campus ministry, one of 24 clubs, multiple choirs and instrumental music, drama productions, or playing one of our 18 different sports once they resume.
Our outstanding counselors ensure students get the classes needed for college acceptance. They are also here to help our kids navigate through the high school years, which may be socially challenging for some. Counselors work to educate parents as well, with events like College Night.
I look forward to walking with you as you go through the admissions process. Thank you for considering SPSV.
