Theater Arts courses are open to all students and offer an introduction to the basics of theater: terminology, fundamentals and forms of theatrical production, and skills for performance. Knowing the distinct language of theater allows students to begin to explore the theoretical and practical elements of theatrical performance and stagecraft.
Theater Arts students learn about vocal expression, physical presentation, and creativity. Students complete exercises in ensemble building, vocal variety, atmosphere exercises, and status exercises as they prepare for performance.
On Sunday, October 23, 2022, more than 30 students teamed up to write, produce, direct, and star in six brand new 10-minute plays. And they did it within the span of 24 hours!
The 24 Hour Plays is an internationally renowned program that bringing together creative communities to produce plays written, rehearsed and performed in 24 hours. Through this radically present approach to theater, our students created work that responded immediately to the world around us, built communities and generated new artistic partnerships.
