With education costs continuing to rise year after year, money raised through the SPSV Fund ensures that the school is operational by providing much-needed tuition assistance and important campus and curriculum enhancements, extracurricular activities, faculty and staff professional development, educational resources and materials, and so much more.

All parents are asked to make a gift to the SPSV Fund that is personally significant to each family so we can achieve 100% participation—an important message SPSV takes to alumni and others when asking for their support. Unlike tuition, the SPSV Fund contributions are tax-deductible as charitable gifts to the extent provided by law. Support in our annual fundraising events, like the SPSV Auction and Crab Feed, are critical to strengthening and sustaining the operational and long-term fiscal needs of SPSV. Parents and guardians are also expected to contribute their time and talent through our Parent Service Program.

* Freshmen and new transfer student registration fee is discounted $100. Also, discounted $100 to returning families if paid by 4/15.

Tuition Assistance

SPSV uses an independent service bureau called FACTS to process tuition assistance applications, analyze the information, calculate the levels of financial need, and provide recommendations.

Complete your FACTS Application: November 1, 2022, to January 31, 2023

To be considered for tuition assistance, complete the online FACTS application and submit your supporting documents by the January 31, 2023 deadline. It is a good idea to apply at least two weeks before the deadline to allow time to mail your documents. (Applications that are incomplete as of the deadline may be considered late and placed on hold.)

Access the FACTS Application Here

The Review Process

After you complete the application and FACTS receives all requested supporting documents, they will contact you if they have any questions. Then they will evaluate your application and forward it to SPSV with their recommendation. After receiving the entire FACTS report, our tuition assistance committee will review it. The tuition assistance committee respects the confidentiality of all applicants and shares information with others only on a need-to-know basis.

Given the school’s tuition assistance budget, the committee decides on a case-by-case basis whether to award assistance and, if so, the amount of the award. Unfortunately, the total amount of need identified by FACTS always exceeds the school’s financial resources, so we are seldom able to award the entire amount the FACTS recommends. However, SPSV makes every effort to reduce our families' financial burdens.

Notification of Awards

The school will begin making notifications of tuition assistance awards by March 1, 2023. (Notifications regarding late applications may be delayed.)
