SPSV Summer Sport Camps 2018

May 29-May 31 and June 4-7

Boys High School Basketball Camp 9th-12th grade 6pm-8pm
Campers participate in offensive and defensive drills and station work, followed by games. Additionally, players are provided preparation for summer leagues and tournaments. Campers are coached by the 2017 California-Division 4 Coach of the year, Derek Walker and his 2017 State Championship winning coaching staff.

June 18-21

Boys Baseball Camp K-8th grade; 12:30-3:30pm
A camp that provides the opportunity to learn new techniques, improve individual abilities, make new friends, and have FUN! Campers develop skills and reach a new level of play and self-confidence. All areas of the game are covered, including hitting, fielding, base-running, pitching, catching, and team play. Campers will be grouped by age and skill level. Camp is directed by Varsity Baseball Coaching Staff.

June 11-14

Girls High School Basketball Camp 9th-12th grade: June 11-14, 10am-12pm
Campers participate in offensive and defensive drills and station work, followed by games. Additionally, players are provided preparation for summer leagues and tournaments. Campers are coached by Varsity Coach Nadine Walker, her assistants and former players.

June 11-14

Little Lady Bruin Basketball Camp 3rd-8th grade: 1 pm - 4 pm
SPSV Head Varsity Girls Coach Nadine Walker, her assistant coaches coaches and alumni players provide a camp that is designed to work with players at their individual skill levels of beginner through intermediate. Campers participate in offensive and defensive drills and station work, followed by team games.

June 19-21

Intro to Basketball Camp (co-ed) K-5th grade; 12pm –2pm
This camp is designed as a great introduction to basketball for boys and girls. The focus is on FUN and fundamentals. Campers work with smaller basketballs and lowered rims which help ensure proper form. Campers participate in offensive and defensive drills and station work, followed by team games. Campers are coached by Varsity Coaches Derek Walker Nadine Walker, their assistants and current players.

June 25-27

High School Girls Offensive Skills Camp 9th-12th grade: 9-11am
This camp is designed to strengthen a player’s offensive skill set. Drills are focused on the development of ball handling (dribbling and passing), shooting and individual scoring moves. Campers are coached by the SPSV basketball coaches and alumni players.

June 18-21 (week 1) 2-5pm, July 9-12 (week 2) 9am-12pm

Flag Football 3rd- 8th grade; 9am-12pm
California State Champion Coach Lane Hawkins and his experienced staff provide skill development in a fun and competitive environment. Campers will be grouped by age and experience level. The campers will be taught techniques needed to pass, catch and run. Campers will participate in skill drills followed by 7 on 7 flag football games.

June 11-14

Cheer Camp K-8th grade; 8:45am – 11:45am
The SPSV Varsity Cheer team and coaches pack this week with fun and spirit! Campers learn several different sideline cheers, dance routines, and basic tumbling skills. All skill levels are welcome. Camp fee include cheer bow.

July 12-13

2 Day Cheer Clinic, K-8th grade, 1-4pm
Specialized help on motions, jumps & stunts to make you game-day ready. New sideline dances & choreographed performances to the most popular songs. Have a blast getting one-on-one attention from the SPSV cheer squad so you're ready for the season.

June 11-14

Co-ed Tennis Camp, 3rd-8th grade; 9am-11am
This camp provides an exciting week of tennis improvement and fun! Campers will be grouped up based on age and then ability/experience level. Campers will focus on tennis-related drills, game play, and stroke-specific activities. Players work on match-play strategy in a game environment under supervision of tennis staff. Games such as singles and doubles, attack drills, along with full-court rotation games, are played. Camp is directed by the Varsity Coach and his high school staff.

June 11-14

This camp is intended for 9th-12th grade students interested in playing at the high school level and in preparation for the upcoming fall and spring volleyball seasons. The camp focuses on all aspects of the game with emphasis on fundamental skill-development from the beginner to the more experienced player. Campers participate in offensive and defensive drills and station work, followed by games. Campers are grouped based on age and skill level.

June 25-28 and July 23-26

Aquatics
Little Guppy Swim Lessons- 11am-11:30am
Little Bruins Aquatics- 11am-12pm (ability to swim 25 yards without assistance)
Competitive Bruins Aquatics Camp- 11am-1pm (competitive swimmers and/or water polo players)

Swim lessons, Litte Bruin Aquatics Camp and Competitive Aquatics camp will be directed by SPSV Varsity Coaches Leo (swimming) and Alisa (water polo). This camp will entail skill and technical training for swimming. This training will include: Teaching of the four competitive strokes, turns and diving. Camp will also focus on three skills of water polo. Those skills include: treading water, passing and shooting. In addition camp will review basic water safety and introduce different fun and exciting aquatic games. Campers must be able to swim. There is a discount if campers attend both weeks of Aquatics camp.

July 23-26

Boys Volleyball Camp 9th-12th grade; 5-8pm
