Mission Statement

St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School, a Catholic college preparatory high school of the Diocese of Sacramento, challenges its diverse student population to seek truth as creative, complex thinkers and to be responsible citizens and compassionate individuals who share their gifts with others.


99% of SPSV students go on to college after graduation, with approximately 81% accepted to traditional four-year colleges and universities

Over 85% of SPSV students are involved in co-curricular Activities

The academic school year is divided into two semesters. All students must enroll in seven courses per semester. Administrative permission must be granted for students to enroll in less than seven courses per semester.

Grading System

Each student receives a quarter report card (mid-semester grade) for evaluative purposes; final examinations are administered at the end of each semester and letter grades are given.

The following grading scale is used by all departments:

A 100-90 Excellent, Superior
B 89-80 Above Average
C 79-70 Average
D 69-60 Barely Passing, Below Average
F Below 60 Failure, No Credit
I Incomplete

Courses receive four grade points for an A, three for a B, two for a C, one for a D and zero for an F. Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses are weighted, receiving five points for an A, four for a B, three for a C, one for a D, and zero for an F.

Class rank: For the purpose of college admission, SPSV ranks by decile only (10%). Decile rankings are based on 9-12th grade weighted academic grade point average with the top decile reported as the 1st decile.

Campus Ministry

Campus Ministry supports the SPSV community as they embrace the Gospel message of friendship with God. Our student life is layered with divine opportunity. Through the celebration of the Eucharist, contemplation, retreats, responding to social justice concerns, immersion experiences and Christian Service, the presence of God is encountered and spiritual growth is nourished. Our Campus Ministry program employs the complementary talents of students and teachers to affirm our unity and our diversity in our community and in our world.
